"Alison Young is a rising star in Toronto and beyond. One of the most versatile musicians in Canada!"
Jaymz Bee, JazzFM 91
A recent dynamic force on the Toronto jazz scene, saxophone sensation ALISON YOUNG is from Ottawa where she honed her craft playing with local blues and R&B bands. We enjoyed Alison’s fiery sax playing with Red Hot Ramble so much we asked her back with her own crack band of Jeff McLeod (keys), Ross MacIntyre (bass) and Chris Wallace (drums).
Alison studied at the University of Toronto with Phil Nimmons, Mike Murley, and Kirk MacDonald, emerging as one of the Toronto jazz scene’s hottest and most sought-after reed players. And we hear she’s singing now, too. No, we haven’t heard her, but odds are she’s gonna be great at that too. Let’s find out.
