“I recognize and value the core of a universal idea simplified into a three-minute song.”
Buffy Sainte-Marie

Buffy Sainte-MarieFive decades on, Buffy Sainte-Marie remains the same restlessly creative force: singer-songwriter, activist, educator, visual artist, and winner of countless awards (Oscar, Juno, Golden Globe). Her new release Power in the Blood includes odes to the sanctity of life and splendour of Mother Nature, and highlights the Native culture she has unflinchingly spotlighted as a humanitarian and world-renowned musician. And oh, how she can write about love! (Question: What do Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, Mel Gibson, Shirley Bassey, Neil Diamond, Bette Davis, Vera Lynn, Willie Nelson, The Monkees, Cher, Nancy Sinatra, Robert Goulet and Glen Campbell have in common? Answer: They’ve all recorded Buffy’s “Until It’s Time For You To Go.”)

Buffy Sainte-Marie has created her own path and unique artistic world, moulded and ripened from experiences in her head and her heart. We are very proud to present this ever-evolving artist in a special solo/acoustic setting at our Bone Lake stage.

“Annie Sumi wins you over before she finishes her first song.”

Annie Sumi by Ryan MarshallAnnie Sumi is a young “New Age” indie-folk singer from Whitby. Each summer she spends the months under the sun travelling across our beautiful country and soaking in the Great Canadian Landscape, playing often (but not too often), and connecting heart and song.  We fell in love with Annie on first hearing and immediately wanted to share her talents with you, and your presence with her. As Annie writes: “I want to take all of the gifts I have been given, outright and in disguise, and make art with them… I want to make art of you.”
