“A band for people that miss the golden age of female vocalists.”
Ear to the Ground
They’re also a band for those who hadn’t known a golden age of female vocalists existed! But that era did exist, and with their golden voices, Lydia Persaud, Meg Contini, and Jill Harris are exploring its angelic vocal harmonies. After singing with each other for 4 years in a soul band they found there was something quite special about their vocal blend. Realizing they had a shared love of writing music, The O’Pears was born. In this setting their voices reach their fullest expression, fairly melting in the beautiful harmonies.
The trio will perform for us with their own minimal but effective accompaniment, incorporating elements of jazz, R&B, Celtic and Bluegrass in their own compositions and adding their uncanny vocal precision to old favourites.
Three beautiful and talented young women blend their wonderful voices on a summer’s afternoon. It’ll be the sweetest sound this side of heaven.
